5 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs

Here are five hospitals and health systems that opened or announced plans for ASCs in September.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health will soon open a surgery center in Fleming Island, Fla.

Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Northwest Community Healthcare bought a majority stake in Des Plaines, Ill.-based Weil Regenerative Surgery Center, and the pair launched a joint venture to provide podiatric care. NCH will operate the Northwest Community Foot and Ankle Center on the west end of the Weil Regenerative Surgery Center.

Denver Health broke ground on a 293,000-square-foot outpatient facility featuring a day surgery center Sept. 20.

Cleveland Clinic Children’s opened a $28 million freestanding outpatient center Sept. 24.

Phoenix-based Mayo Clinic in Arizona started its largest expansion to date as it drastically transforms its campus. The expansion will feature an outpatient surgery center.
