3 Maryland providers plan new ASC projects

The Maryland Health Care Commission received three letters of intent for new surgery center projects in July and August.

The Commission will consider the letters in a future meeting.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Berlin, Md.-based Atlantic General Hospital filed a letter of intent to establish a new ambulatory surgical facility with two operating rooms and three procedure rooms at one of two sites in Berlin.

2. Salisbury, Md.-based Deer Pointe Surgical Center filed a letter of intent to relocate to an existing ambulatory surgery facility with two procedure rooms and up to three ORs, also in Salisbury. Deer Pointe plans to renovate its existing ASC and add an OR and two procedure rooms.

3. Rockville-based Maryland Surgery Center plans to convert a procedure room into a sterile OR.
