11 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs

Here are 11 hospitals and health systems that opened or announced plans for ASCs in January.

1. Pueblo, Colo.-based Parkview Medical Center opened a new outpatient center that will be able to accommodate as many as 60 procedures per day.

2. Moreno Valley, Calif.-based Riverside University Health System plans to build a neighboring 200,000-square-foot ambulatory care campus with an outpatient surgery center this spring.

3. Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health opened a surgery center in Cherry Hill, N.J. The ASC can accommodate an estimated 10,000 surgical procedures annually.

4. Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Medical Center plans to open its new medical building with a 17,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center, along with clinical and office space, in March.

5. Los Angeles-based Keck Medicine of University of Southern California opened the Norris Healthcare Center, also in Los Angeles.

6. Pocatello, Idaho-based Skyline Surgery Center invested in a planned medical campus development in Chubbuck, Idaho. Stakeholders in the campus include: physician partners, regional healthcare leaders, development partners and Bingham Healthcare.

7. Medford, Mass.-based Hallmark Health System plans to build an ASC, which will cost an estimated $16 million, at its Lawrence Memorial Hospital campus in Medford, Mass.

8. United Surgical Partners International will open an ASC in West Palm Beach, Fla., in partnership with New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.

9. Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina is opening an outpatient surgical facility in a shopping mall.

10. Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Cottage Children’s Medical Center opened a pediatric surgery center in Goleta, Calif.

11. The Hospital Authority of Tift County will begin construction on a replacement facility for Adel, Ga.-based Cook Medical Center in March. The building will include an outpatient surgery center.
