Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City, Calif. received approval to condense four outpatient and three administrative facilities into a four-story, 197,800-square-foot building on its Redwood City campus, The Mercury News reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. The building will feature specialty care clinics, conference rooms, an outpatient surgery floor as well as physician offices.
2. Kaiser will construct the new building before demolishing all seven of the other buildings.
3. The project will also incorporate a 1.15-acre open air recreational area for the community, including a children's playground.
4. A Redwood City resident expressed support for the project out of fear Kaiser would relocate the facilities otherwise.
