HSS’ ASC names Dr. David Levine medical director — 4 takeaways

Orthopedic surgeon David Levine, MD, is the new medical director for New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s ASC, according to Militech.

Here are four takeaways:

1. The ASC is opening its doors in May 2017 and has four operating rooms.

2. In addition to his practice, Dr. Levine is an associate attending orthopedic surgeon at HSS.

3. Specializing in treating foot and ankle fractures and dislocations, he is an associate orthopedic surgery professor at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College and associate attending orthopedic surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

4. Dr. Levine said the ASC is “the first opportunity for physicians to partner with the hospital in ways in which the hospital and doctors have not partnered before – to have shared leadership and decision-making in place and to align together.”
