Sabrina Rodak -

The ASC Quality Collaboration offers a free toolkit on best practices for point-of-care devices such as blood glucose meters and lancing devices.

Point-of-care devices are portable, handheld instruments used to test patients at the bedside. Healthcare providers need to follow infection prevention best practices when handling point-of-care devices to lower the risk of transmitting bloodborne pathogens, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV, according to the ASC Quality Collaboration.
