The Minnesota Hospital Association offers a free roadmap for perinatal patient safety.
"Road Map to a Perinatal Patient Safety Program" includes evidence-based recommendations for developing a perinatal safety program. Strategies address the following areas:
• Patient education
• Elective delivery
• Fetal/uterine assessment
• Operative vaginal delivery
• Maternal/obstetric morbidity and mortality reduction
• Trial of labor after a previous Caesarean section
• Provider/nurse training
The roadmap was developed as part of the Minnesota Perinatal Safety Program, which was created with funding from CMS' Partnership for Patients initiative.
