Patient Education Tools: Infection Prevention Wallet Card, Brochure & Posters From the WAVE Campaign

The Office of Healthcare Quality and the HHS Partnership for Patients provide four free, downloadable tools as part of the “WAVE” campaign to help families and caregivers prevent healthcare-associated infections.

The WAVE campaign is designed to help family members and caregivers educate themselves about HAIs and the steps they can take to protect their loved ones.

 

WAVE stands for the following:

  • “W” — Wash hands
  • “A” — Ask questions
  • “V” — Vaccinate
  • “E” — Ensure safety
