1. Verizon reported healthcare organizations can combat the threat of lost devices with encryption.

2. Errors, like sending an email to an incorrect address or throwing away a confidential document instead of shredding it, account for 20 percent of all healthcare security breaches.

3. Privilege abuse, when an employee illegally looks up health information about a patient, accounts for 20 percent of healthcare security breaches.

4. Since many employees at all levels have access to confidential patient information, privilege abuse is a big issue in healthcare.
