68k Texas residents gain access to quality healthcare — 5 notes

Through the UT Southwestern Accountable Care Network, nearly 68,000 Dallas and Fort Worth residents have access to quality healthcare, according to News-Medical.

Here are five notes:

1. Members can receive flu shots, screenings and education through a series of 22 health fairs.

2. The health fairs are running now through Nov. 20.

3. UT Southwestern Medical Center's Accountable Care Network members, a physician-led partnership between UTSW, Texas Health Physicians Group and community physicians in UT Southwestern Clinically Affiliated Physicians sponsor the health fairs.

3. YMCA facilities are hosting many of the health fairs in the Dallas/Fort Worth community.

4. The fairs aim to enhance health and address gaps in the community.

5. In 2014, UT Southwestern ACN was one of 20 percent of accountable care organizations that generated savings for healthcare consumers in the first year of their operation.
