3 things to know about work/life balance & its effect on ASC quality

Adopting a solid work-life balance culture at an ASC doesn't have to impede the center's efficiency, according to ASC management software company Simplify ASC.

Three things to know:

1. Not having a balance between work and employees' personal lives can affect the safety culture at the ASC. By decreasing the level of burnout, turnover rates decrease, and employee satisfaction and the reporting of safety concerns increases.

2. Scheduling flexibility gives staff the time to keep their total hours worked at a comfortable level without having to sacrifice staffing the ASC adequately.

3. Not setting boundaries for work/life balance can contribute to burnout. Work/life balance should be as much a priority for management as it is for the rest of staff, with boundaries set for cutting off office communications at the end of the workday and on holidays and weekends.
