The “Employed Physicians Report” for 2023, published Aug. 22, asked 1,003 employed physicians how they feel about their jobs’ perks and benefits, office cultures and other aspects of work life. The survey was conducted between March 10 and May 31.
Here are what respondents identified as the worst aspects of being employed, ranked by the popularity of the response:
1. Less autonomy (56 percent)
2. Less income potential (52 percent)
3. More workplace rules (28 percent)
4. Company management (22 percent)
5. Mandatory performance targets (13 percent)
6. Not as productive as I would like (10 percent)
7. Lack of job security (1 percent)
8. Other (2 percent)
9. Nothing (2 percent)
