Here are four things to know:

1. Opened in 2014, Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center is the first ASC of its kind in the region, offering total joint surgery.

2. The ASC’s staff also provides detailed answers to patient question pre-and post-surgery as well as extensive follow-up care.

3. Gary Furtak, the first total joint surgical patient at the center, noted his procedure at the center was one of “his smoothest medical experiences ever.”

4. Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center is a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
