West Virginia physician charged with 25 counts of distributing drugs, destroying evidence 

Bridgeport, W.Va.-based physician David Elwood Hess, MD, was indicted on 25 counts of unlawful controlled substance distribution and destroying evidence, the Justice Department said April 4.

Dr. Hess, 59, wrote prescriptions for Adderall, Xanax, Oxycontin and other controlled substances without a medical purpose. He also was charged with remotely wiping his iPhone after it had been seized by law enforcement.
