Here are four highlights:
1. The donation will endow a professorship in pediatric ophthalmology, with Richard G. Weaver, MD, receiving the inaugural professorship.
2. Dr. Weaver will formally accept the endowment today at the Wake Forest Eye Center’s Annual Alumni Dinner.
3. Dr. Weaver earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City.
4. Dr. Nelson earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and completed his residency at Wake Forest Eye Center. He also completed a fellowship at Southern Eye Center.
