In the poll, Gallup asked respondents to rate three proposals including:
1. Keeping the ACA, which falls in line with Hillary Clinton’s healthcare plan.
2. Replacing the ACA with a federally funded healthcare program providing insurance for all Americans, a plan Sen. Bernie Sanders has supported.
3. Repealing the ACA, which Donald Trump has pledged to do if elected.
Here are six more statistics:
• While 51 percent supported repealing the ACA, 45 percent opposed ACA repeal, thus illustrating a fraction more consumers favor Mr. Trump’s healthcare plan.
• Fifty-eight percent of respondents favored Bernie Sanders’ single-payer plan, and 37 percent opposed the plan. Five percent did not provide an opinion.
• When asked whether they would prefer to either implement a single-payer plan or maintain the ACA, 64 percent voted in favor of a single-payer plan.
