The 6 procedures CMS could pay for in ASCs — cervical disc replacement, total knee replacement & more

CMS released the 2018 proposed rule for hospital outpatient departments and proposed adding three procedures to the ASC payable list; the agency is seeking comment on whether three others can be added as well, according to ASCA.

The six procedures CMS could move to the ASC payable list in the future include:

1. Cervical artificial disc replacement (proposed for 2018)
2. Second level cervical discectomy (proposed for 2018)
3. Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (proposed for 2018)
4. Total knee replacement (proposed removal from inpatient-only list in 2018)
5. Total hip arthroplasty (seeking comment in 2018)
6. Partial hip arthroplasty (seeking comment in 2018)
