Pediatric nephrology is the physician specialty that saw the highest pay jump in the last year, according to Doximity’s “Physician Compensation Report 2025.”

Doximity examined data from about 230,000 survey responses over the past six years, including responses from 37,000 U.S. physicians in 2024.

1. Pediatric nephrology: 15.6% increase

Average compensation: $263,013

2. Preventive medicine:10%

Average compensation: $310,177

3. Pediatric medicine:8.5%

Average compensation: $296,665

4. Radiology: 7.5%

Average compensation: $571,749

5. Hematology: 7.4%

Average compensation: $421,482

6. Colon and rectal surgery: 7%

Average compensation: $487,085

7. Rheumatology: 6.4%

Average compensation: $324,954

8. Medical genetics: 6.2%

Average compensation: $259,564

9. Family medicine: 6%

Average compensation: $318,959

10. Anesthesiology: 5.8%
