Survey: 29% of Physician Practices Invested More Than $200K in EHR Implementation

For nearly a third of physician practices, electronic health record implementation cost more than $200,000, according to a national survey commissioned by Medical Economics and administered by MPI Group.
The survey includes responses from nearly 1,000 physicians.

When asked how much their practice invested in an EHR system, including hardware, software, training and consultation, respondents reported:

Less than $10,000 — 15 percent
$10,000 to $50,000 — 22 percent
$50,000 to $100,000 — 18 percent
$100,000 to $150,000 — 10 percent
$150,000 to $200,000 — 6 percent
More than $200,000 — 29 percent
