Surgery Center of Beverly Hills performs charitable cases for children: 5 notes

Special Surgical Center of Beverly Hills (Calif.) is partnering with nonprofit Mending Kids to provide free surgeries for children in need, according to Los Angeles Times.

Here are five notes:

1. Mending Kids offers free cosmetic, orthopedic or general outpatient surgeries for children whose families can’t afford the procedures.

2. The nonprofit will select 20 children on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Special Surgical Center of Beverly Hills will perform the surgeries.

4. Fundraising events and private donors pay for the surgeries.

5. Mending Kids has previously served children in 57 countries, sending volunteer surgeons to perform the surgeries.
