St. Francis breaks ground on surgery center campus

St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minn., and its owners Allina Health, HealthPartners Park Nicollet and Essentia Health (located in Minneapolis, Bloomington, and Duluth, Minn. respectively), broke ground to begin construction for a new facility on the Shakopee campus.

The 44,000-square-foot building will comprise both a new surgery center with specialty care in ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology, general surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and gastroenterology, as well as the TRIA clinic and orthopedic urgent care, according to a June 14th news release shared with Becker’s from HealthPartners.

President of St. Francis Amy Jerdee shared that the new center offers increased access to specialty care. The facility is set to complete construction in October 2024, according to the release.
