Social Media use in healthcare: 3 key things to know

Joe Yeager of the Bucks County Courier Times has some tips for how companies in healthcare can use social media.

Here are three main points:

1. The FDA is watching your social media! Companies cannot recommend any use of products considered “off label.”

2. Keep your social media in adherence with what the company claims in its 510k clearance. Mixed messages from sales reps or employees could create a problem.

3. There is a risk with the reward of advertising or promoting your organization on social media. Be careful not to accidentally post something against regulatory requirements.
