John M. Roberts Jr., MD, joined Prowers Medical Center Outpatient Specialty Clinic in Lamar, Colo., according to The Prowers Journal.

Here are five notes:

1. Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Roberts specializes in glaucoma, diabetes, customized cataract surgery, macular degeneration and laser-assisted procedures.

2. Dr. Roberts will begin seeing patients on May 26, and will provide services on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. He will also perform surgeries at the clinic on the second Wednesday of each month.

3. He earned his medical degree from Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

4. Following medical school, Dr. Roberts underwent ophthalmology training at Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.

5. Prowers Medical Center Outpatient Specialty Clinic offers services such as podiatry, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, urology and oncology, among several others.
