The Woodlands, Texas-based Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers recently applied for state approval to open its first ASC in Massachusetts.
The pediatric dentistry chain filed a Determination of Need application June 13 to take ownership over Northeast Ambulatory Center, a freestanding pain management center in Stoneham, Mass.
The facility is currently owned by Anil Kumar, MD. Dr. Kumar, who announced his retirement in May, said the facility will shift to only offering dental surgeries after the sale is completed.
The transaction is valued at $3.8 million, according to state records.
If the deal is approved, the ASC would become Blue Cloud’s first in Massachusetts. The chain currently has locations in 16 other states.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
