Outpatient care center jobs continue to grow in strong healthcare sector

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly jobs report, offering insights into an array of different sectors. The healthcare sector continues to see gains as a whole, but is particularly strong in the outpatient subsector.

The whole healthcare jobs sector added 16,387 seasonally adjusted jobs in June 2019, up from 15,985 seasonally adjusted jobs in June 2018. Monthly, the sector added 34.9 more jobs from May to June.

The outpatient care center sector added 971 seasonally adjusted jobs in June 2019, up from 931 seasonally adjusted jobs in June 2018. Monthly, the sector added 3.8 more seasonally adjusted jobs from May to June.

Concerning general employment, while total non-farm payroll employment increased by 224,000 jobs in June, the unemployment rate grew to 3.7 percent in June, compared to 3.6 percent in May.
