New SCA joint venture, HCA acquisition & more – 5 recent key notes on ASC companies

Here are five recent news updates on ambulatory surgery center companies.

Surgical Care Affiliates and Newport Beach, Calif.-based DISC Sports & Spine have formed a joint venture.

Surgical Care Affiliates appointed Lisa Skeete Tatum to its board of directors Oct. 1.

Brookside Surgery Center, located in Battle Creek, Mich., is the first ambulatory surgery center in Michigan to perform total knee replacement surgery. Brookside Surgery Center is a Meridian Surgical Partners facility and a Bronson Battle Creek partner.

Hospital Corporation of America will acquire mobile health software company PatientKeeper for an undisclosed amount. PatientKeeper will operate as an independent subsidiary of HCA.

Tenet Healthcare stock traded at $60.75 per share during the week of Sept. 22 to Sept. 26, down 3.98 percent.
