More outpatient clinics in store for Shields Health Care: 5 things to know

Headquartered in Quincy, Mass., Shields Health Care Group plans to open six outpatient clinics in the next two years, according to Boston Globe.

Here are five things to know:

1. Shields currently manages 43 outpatient clinics, with a focus on imaging services.

2. Massachusetts is expected to receive two more centers and New Hampshire and Maine will receive a total of four more centers.

3. The company is responding to higher cost burdens on consumers, who want affordable care.

4. To remain competitive, the company has entered joint ventures with hospitals and health systems, offering imaging services.

5. The clinics provide MRI, PET/CT scans, radiation therapy and outpatient surgery.
