MiVIP Surgery Center offers minimally invasive robotic surgery: 3 details to know

The Las Vegas-based MiVIP Surgery Center’s da Vinci Surgical System allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive cardiac, colorectal and general surgeries, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

1. The da Vinci robot’s laparoscope allows the surgeons to see the area where surgery is being performed in high definition.

2. The laparoscope sends images to a video monitor in the operating room, which helps guide the surgeon.

3. Surgeons can use the robot’s four arms to make incisions the size of a dime.
