Mistie Witt embarks on Mercy Ships Vision Trip — 4 things to know

President of Action Products, Mistie Witt, is participating on a Mercy Ship Vision Trip to raise awareness of obstetric fistula.

Here are four things to know:

1. Ms. Witt will travel aboard the Africa Mercy hospital ship. Mercy Ships delivers free, world-class health services, capacity building and sustainable development via hospital ships to those without access in the developing world.

2. She will travel with colleagues and will detail her personal perspective on a travel blog. The blog can be found at http://www.actionproducts.com/MercyShips.

3. Action Products, manufacturer of Akton viscoelastic polymer pads and positioners, will engage in a Twitter Chat from the ship on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. EST. Participants in the chat will discuss obstetric fistula.

4. In Madagascar, approximately 50,000 women are in need of obstetric fistula surgeries. This Mercy Ships mission trip will focus on obstetric fistula.
