Here are six notes:
1. In 2014, the hospital had a record high of 5,022 outpatient procedures.
2. However, that number declined 20 percent in 2015.
3. From 2015 to 2016, the number of outpatient surgeries decreased an additional 11 percent.
4. McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center CEO Chad Campbell said this decline is, in part, due to more ASCs not affiliated with the hospital taking these types of cases.
5. Despite the decline, the hospital is faring fairly well, mainly driven by the high percentage of patients with private insurance.
6. McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is in the midst of an $85 million expansion. The News-Review speculates these plans could include adding more operating rooms to increase its outpatient surgery volume.
