Legislation for extended ASC stays introduced in Florida again

A number of bills that would allow Florida surgery centers to keep patients for an extended period of time have been introduced in the past, but none have been signed into law. Now, a new round of legislation has been introduced, according to The Ledger

Florida House Bill 85 and Florida Senate Bill 212 aim to allow ASCs to keep patients up to 24 hours and allow for the creation of 72-hour stay recovery care centers. The Florida Hospital Association is a vocal opponent of the legislation, according to the report.
