Knoxville Orthopaedic Center performs first outpatient hip replacement: 3 key notes

The Knoxville (Tenn.) Orthopaedic Center performed its first outpatient hip replacement in the city and center in February 2017, CBS 8 reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Matthew Naduad, MD, of the center, performed the operation on a man at the surgery center.

2. The man made a full recovery and was able to walk unassisted two weeks after the procedure.

3. The Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic called the procedure a “breakthrough” for East Tennesseans.
