Hendrick Surgery Center, fire department hold fan drive — 4 insights

Brownwood, Texas-based Hendrick Surgery Center and the Brownwood Fire Department hosted a fan drive to support community members with defective or inoperable heating and air conditioning units, Aug. 14, the Brownwood Bulletin reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Brownwood residents could come to the surgery center all day to donate fans.

2. Surgery center staff kicked off the drive by donating several fans. Staff members made the decision to, “give back to the community that made their livelihoods possible.”

3. Hendrick Surgery Center opened in April 2017.

4. Center Clinical Coordinator Leslie Greaves said, “We have been here a little over a year and we were trying to think of an idea of how to give back to the Brownwood community. We have a lot of summer left and we just want to provide to individuals who have a need.”
