4. Eighty-three percent of Republicans believe the government should allow Medicare to negotiate for drug prices.
5. A reported 76 percent of Republicans believe the government should cap what companies can charge for drugs to treat cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
6. Seventy-two percent of Republicans believe the government should import drugs from Canada.
7. The poll indicated Republicans showed a strong preference for solutions that use the marketplace. When polled as to whether federal regulation or competition would be better at reducing drug costs, 51 percent favored competition overall.
