Here’s what you should know:

1. Erin Marie Bokemper, 31, allegedly took more than $24,000 from patients’ accounts between October 2016 and September 2017. Police reports and search warrants allege she diverted the funds to two credit cards.

2. OMA discovered the alleged diversion through an audit and reported it to police June 1.

3. Ms. Bokemper was charged with felony embezzlement and computer crimes in March after a patient reported she never received her $1,000 refund for a canceled procedure. The facility concluded Ms. Bokemper sent the money to her personal account instead of to the patient.

She is scheduled to appear in court in August for that case.

4. News 4 could not reach Ms. Bokemper’s attorney for a statement, and an OMA employee did not comment.
