Former University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino is recovering after emergency surgery on his retina, according to Courier Journal. Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Pitino lost vision in his left eye while at the Gulfstream Park racetrack in Hallandale Beach, Fla., Feb. 14.

2. The 65-year-old reportedly had surgery for a detached retina.

3. The former coach, who co-owns a horse that was racing at Gulfstream Park Wednesday, has since returned to the racetrack and was wearing dark glasses.

4. University of Louisville fired Mr. Pitino last year during a corruption and bribery investigation by the FBI.
