Casetabs expanded its surgery coordination platform to offer patient engagement through the continuum of care, from automated pre-operative reminders to post-operative check-ins.

Here are five notes:

1. The electronic platform’s automated texts, emails and in-app alerts allow everyone involved in the case — including the patient — to communicate case information through a central hub.

2. The project management platform is intended for physician office teams, ASC teams, anesthesiologists and ancillary teams including medical reps, radiology and pathology.

3. The platform offers the ability to manage anesthesia assignments, staffing assignments and vendor reps.

4. Casetabs allows physicians to use scheduling and patient demographic information from their EMRs to schedule into available operating room times at hospitals and ASCs.

5. Providers can customize messages based on anesthesia type and procedure. They can also set up automatic notifications to inform staff if an urgent message is received.

“We live in a world where anyone can receive text updates from Pizza Hut, UPS and the dentist office,” said Casetabs CEO Gavin Fabian. “We are providing a tool that empowers patients with information about their procedure, with the end goal of improving patients’ confidence and outcomes. And we wanted to deliver this in a powerful, efficient way that saves center staff time.”
