Fire temporarily closes Los Robles SurgiCenter — 4 insights

Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based Los Robles SurgiCenter evacuated several patients and employees after a piece of medical equipment caught fire, the Ventura County Star reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. A piece of equipment caught fire July 5.

2. The first floor of the surgery center filled with smoke, prompting the center to evacuate.

3. The fire department arrived soon after evacuations were underway to check and clear the rest of the building. The surgery center reopened later in the day.

4. No injuries were reported.
