Here are five points:
1. Patient can participate in mobile video appointments through their smartphone or tablet.
2. In addition to offering virtual services, FastMed can see patients at 57 North Carolina clinics to determine if patients need further evaluation or tests. In the case of such an event, FastMed would waive the patient’s telemedicine fee.
3. Through TouchCare’s mobile platforms, medical providers and health systems can provide patients scheduled, HIPAA-compliant video appointments.
4. Following the pilot program, TouchCare plans to launch its statewide on-demand telemedicine module.
5. TouchCare, headquartered in Durham, N.C., aims to offer providers, practices and healthcare institutions tools to remotely connect with patients via face-to-face video calls.
“We’re excited to partner with FastMed to launch TouchCare’s new on-demand telemedicine capabilities, which allow any practice or urgent care center to offer patients easier access to care right when they need it,” said Damian Gilbert, TouchCare founder and CEO. “With the addition of TouchCare’s mobile platform, FastMed can provide exceptional care while reducing wait times, admissions, administrative bottlenecks and unnecessary fees for their patients.”
