Orthopedic surgeon John T. Moor, MD, of Sarasota, Fla.-based Advanced Sports Medicine Center, was featured in a Herald Tribune article on various hip replacement surgery techniques.
In the article, Dr. Moor was singled out as being one of approximately two dozen U.S. surgeons who perform SuperPath hip replacements, a technique in which the surgical team assembles the artificial hip inside the body and does not dislocate the hip joint. The method was noted as potentially allowing for a faster recovery than traditional surgery, though it has not yet been independently evaluated, according to the report.
