Frontive, a procedural management platform, and LainaHealth, a virtual medical practice, have partnered to integrate virtual physical therapy and patient-reported outcome measure collection into a platform for health systems, ambulatory surgery centers and surgical practices.
The partnership will make LainaHealth’s rehabilitation and outcomes tracking capabilities available through Frontive’s patient-facing application, according to an Oct. 13 news release shared with Becker’s. The integrated offering is available now, initially focusing on orthopedic procedures.
Frontive’s platform provides patients with structured guidance before and after procedures while giving care teams visibility into surgical readiness, adherence and risk. LainaHealth adds virtual rehabilitation delivered by licensed physical therapists, supported by an artificial intelligence navigation assistant.
The companies said the integration is designed to address gaps in postoperative rehabilitation and help providers meet increasing quality reporting requirements. The release cited research finding that fewer than 20% of orthopedic surgery patients complete six or more physical therapy visits within 90 days of surgery.
The offering also supports patient-reported outcomes collection as CMS requirements and value-based payment models place greater emphasis on measuring surgical recovery and performance.
Frontive and LainaHealth plan to expand the integrated offering into additional procedural specialties. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
