He is an innovator in techniques like the LapSleeve and has performed thousands of laparoscopic surgeries during his career. He was among the first physicians to place the intragastric balloon for weight loss during a recent FDA trial. He also established Surgical Teams International, a nonprofit organization providing surgical services to people in need.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Landerholm has given presentations on surgical treatment for obesity across the world and published articles in The American Journal of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Landerholm earned his medical degree from the University of Washington and completed his residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
