7 insights into multispecialty ASCs’ average regional earnings — What region is 1st?

VMG Health’s Multi-Specialty ASC Intellimarker 2017 broke down the average earnings in U.S. regions before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization for multispecialty ASCs.

VMG surveyed 278 surgery centers around the country with an aggregate case volume of more than 1.3 million. VMG also incorporated 2015 and 2016 data into its updated 2017 figures.

Here is the average regional breakdown of EBITDA for multispecialty ASCs:

  • Atlantic: $1.34 million
  • Midwest: $1.93 million
  • Mountain: $1.24 million
  • Northeast: $1.77 million
  • Pacific: $1.58 million
  • South: $2.81 million
  • All facilities: $2.02 million
