5 states with the highest, lowest life expectancy

Hawaii is the state with the highest life expectancy, while Mississippi has the lowest, according to personal finance site WalletHub.

In a report released Jan. 22, WalletHub determined the best and worst states to retire. The site compared the 50 states across three metrics: affordability, quality of life and healthcare. These dimensions were evaluated using 46 relevant metrics, including adjusted cost of living, risk of social isolation and family medicine physicians per capita.
