5 most important factors for nurses choosing where to work

A high salary is the most important factor for nurses when choosing a healthcare employer, according to a report on what nurses value at work published by healthcare talent firm Adfire Health.

The report surveyed 752 nurses across 30 specialty areas on the factors that matter most to them when seeking employment. 

Here are the five most important factors for nurses when choosing a healthcare employer: 

1. Salary/pay rate: 54.5% 

2. Collegial work environment: 46.6% 

3. Flexible scheduling: 42.2% 

4. Number of patients assigned: 31.5% 

5. Location: 31%
