Here are five alternatives:

1. The five alternative options are:

  • Implantable collamer lens
  • Kamray inlay
  • Superficial Lasik
  • Presbyopic implant in eye
  • Topography-guided laser vision correction

2. ICL is a soft lens similar to a contact lens and is implanted between the colored part and the natural lens of the eye. This procedure is best for people with nearsightedness or those with a too thin or abnormal cornea.

3. Karma inlay is for people between the ages of 45 and 60 who want to avoid wearing reading glasses. A small colored disc is placed inside the superficial cornea, which increases the depth of field. The patient will have improved near and middle vision and retain their far vision.

4. Superficial Lasik involves using an epi-karatome to fashion an ultra-thin 50-micron flap. This procedure is best for patients with thinner corneas, those participate in contact sports or those who have dry eyes.

5. Presbyopic implant in eye, or PIE, is best for people over the age of 45 who want to free themselves of glasses completely. PIE allows each eye to see at all distances and patients who get PIE will never develop cataracts.

6. Topography-guided laser vision correction can be used to treat vision problems in situations where Lasik surgery cannot be performed because the cornea is deformed.
