3 ASCs recently hosting members of Congress

Three ASCs recently hosted members of Congress.

They are:

1. The Surgery Center of Cleveland (Tenn.)
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, visited The Surgery Center of Cleveland (Tenn.) Wednesday to learn about the procedures that physicians perform there and how the facility saves patients money.

2. Chesapeake Urology, Maryland
Andy Harris, congressman for Maryland's 1st District, toured a new Chesapeake Urology facility set to open this fall in Salisbury, Md. Mr. Harris spoke about the challenges of recruiting physicians to rural areas, as well as Chesapeake Urology's model of patient care. The new facility will house an ASC, 10 patient exam rooms and an ultrasound room. Four urologists will practice there.

3. Pacific Surgery Center, Poulsbo, Wash.
The Pacific Surgery Center in Poulsbo, Wash. hosted Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Washington, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association reported. During National ASC Month in August, ASCs were encouraged to host lawmakers to spread awareness about ASCs and their impact on the healthcare industry.
