10 least expensive states for physicians to live in

Mississippi is the least expensive state to live in, according to a Nov. 1 report from Forbes

Researchers compiled a cost of living index based on monthly living expenses, including  housing and utilities, transportation, healthcare and groceries. The average cost of living index is 100.

Here are the least expensive states for physicians to live in:

1. Mississippi

State cost of living index: 83.3

2. Kansas

State cost of living index: 86.5

3. Alabama

State cost of living index: 87.9

4. Oklahoma

State cost of living index: 87.9

5. Georgia

State cost of living index: 88.8

6. Tennessee

State cost of living index: 89

7. Missouri

State cost of living index: 89.8

8. Iowa

State cost of living index: 89.9

9. West Virginia

State cost of living index: 90.5

10. Indiana

State cost of living index: 90.6
