Zika has a code in ICD-10: 3 notes

The American Health Information Management Association sent an email to its members recommending that the code A92.8 be used for the Zika virus, according to an ICD-10 Monitor report.

Here are three notes:

1. It was recently reported that Zika could be transmitted through sexual contact, as well as infected mosquitoes.

2. The code A92.8 is used to indicate “other specified mosquito-borne viral fevers.”

3. Thus far, 11 states have reported incidences of travel-related Zika cases.
