Which states have the worst access to healthcare?

Fox 43 used Health Indicators Warehouse, U.S. Census and CMS data to devise a Health Care Access Score to assess which U.S. states have the worst healthcare access. The Health Care Access Score analyzed physician density, dentist density, percent of insured, median household income, number of mental healthcare shortage areas and whether there is a Medicare-registered hospital in the county.

Here are the top 10 states with the worst access to healthcare:

1. Georgia
2. Texas
3. Idaho
4. Oklahoma
5. New Mexico
6. Montana
7. Arizona
8. Alaska
9. Nevada
10. Indiana
